Excursion to the mountain park "Ruskeala"
Season: All year round
This is a bright trip to the Ruskeala mountain park! On the way to the canyon, you will take a walk along suspension bridges over waterfalls, and then go to the mountain of the forest spirit, which offers an incredible view of the Ladoga Skerries or Mount Paaso, which offers an equally breathtaking bird's-eye view.
Ruskeala is a symbol of the revival of the Karelian land, a symbol of the harmony of man and nature! Nature and people have been interacting here for three centuries, and the magic marble "the color of the white nights", mined here, has forever become an adornment of St. Petersburg.
Contemporaries come here not only to relax, but also to touch the history of mining, look into the secrets of the Karelian depths, bow to the northern stone, see the legendary Ruskeala Express and transparent emerald lakes.
In the morning, after breakfast at the hotel, you will go to the marble canyon - the pearl of Karelia. You will have a walk with panoramas of sheer marble walls, a descent into underground adits, as well as delicious Karelian cuisine, waterfalls and climbing a mountain, where you will tie ribbons to your desire and just admire the incredible view from above!
The tour is individual, duration from 8 hours, the exact time depends on your temperament and activity. On the way, you can stop by for a tasting of Karelian tinctures and a farm shop where you can buy Karelian trout and caviar.
Winter tour of the Ladoga skerries on an air cushion
Coming to Sorola Village you find yourself in the Ladoga Skerries National Park. The Ladoga skerries are a rocky archipelago on Lake Ladoga. About 650 small rocky islands are concentrated on the territory of the Ladoga region. The relief of the nearest coast is rugged, with centuries-old rocks that go deep into the water exactly as much as they rise.
We invite you to go on a hovercraft trip through the archipelago and see the mesmerizing winter landscapes. During the trip, you can see not only the flora, but if you're lucky, you can also see local residents - seals, foxes, eagles and other animals. Beautiful shots for memory, uninhabited islands - all this on a walk through the skerries.
What is winter without sledding? Another place of new emotions will be a meeting with a husky. These cute and good-natured dogs will not leave anyone indifferent, and riding in a harness will amuse you from the bottom of your heart.
Afterwards, we will visit one of the nicest and most comfortable museums in the Lahdenpokh region, where we will learn in detail about the history, life and prominent personalities of Karelia.
The tour is individual, duration from 7 hours, the exact time depends on your temperament and activity. On the way, you can stop by for a tasting of Karelian tinctures and a farm shop where you can buy Karelian trout and caviar.
Winter tour around Karelia
We suggest starting an active day in the vicinity of Sorolansaari with snowmobiling or horseback riding through the Karelian snow-covered forests. And if you like a more measured rest, then with a walking tour about the history of Karelia.
Then we will go by car outside of Sorola. In our area there are three iconic sights that many guests managed to fall in love with. Two of which are old Finnish churches with architecture uncharacteristic for Karelia. You will find out for whom the bell tolls in the deserted temple, where the angels live and how the Finns differ from the Karelians.
And another interesting place on our trip is the Valley of Waterfalls, where we will have a walk along the eco-trail along a stormy and picturesque river, a Sami village, real reindeer and elk, which we will definitely feed and touch the horns for good luck.
The tour is individual, duration from 7 hours, the time depends on your temperament and activity. On the way, you can stop by for a tasting of Karelian tinctures and a farm shop where you can buy Karelian trout and caviar.
